About Year 7

Welcome to Year 7 at Loxford School

We are very excited to begin this wonderful journey with our new year 7's with the support of their parents/carers. Year 7 is not only the beginning of an exciting journey, but also a beginning of a great future for our young people. This is the year where students will be supported to develop all the necessary life skills, such as integrity, determination, curiosity and empathy; which will help them grow and become great ambassadors in their communities.
In Year 7 you will find all staff working hard to provide a safe and happy environment in which every student can learn to develop academic social and personal goals. A good start in Year 7 will lay down the foundations for successful learning. Every child matters at Loxford and we are proud of our inclusive approach for all children on the learning spectrum. Pupils will be supported in their learning by a form tutor, who has an overview of their learning and who will be able to offer advice and guidance. The Achievement Team Leader, Mrs Rogers is responsible for the learning and achievement for the year group. Mr O Flanagan is responsible for student welfare and is available to help students and parents with any concerns they have. We are supported in our work by staff from Special Education Needs (SEN), English as an additional language (EAL) and the Year Care Team.
We have clear guidelines in place to help the development and raising attainment of our students. With your help and assistance, we can continue this positive trend by ensuring that homework is completed regularly, school diaries are signed and checked by parents and tutors every week and that students take full advantage of all the after school activities we have available at Loxford School of Science and Technology.
Together we are a TEAM which consist of you, your child, the Year 7 Achievement Team and all the curriculum and support staff within the school. We need to work together to ensure your child continues to improve academically and make progress in all aspects of their school life.
We are keen to discuss any concerns or answer any queries you may have about your child's progress, so please feel free to contact me and I will do my possible best in assisting you.
Thank you in advance for your support and look forward to working with you.

Mrs Rogers
Achievement Team Leader
